Melvin Haynes Transport or "MHT" for short is an up and coming Trucking/Carrier company looking to expand its current operations due to increased customer freight volume and demands.

We are looking to lease on new Owner Operators of all types that have their own Semi and/or Hotshot Trucks, Trailers, and their own Tags (sorry no plate program available), with the ability to run a minimum of four states SC, NC, GA, and VA.

We are looking for both "Solo and Team" operators that are very skilled, experienced, and know all of the faucets of the trucking industry. We need Owner Operators that will run "Over-The-Road" both regional and all 48-states (the more states you are able to run the more profitable you will be), with the ability to stay out a minimum of 2-weeks at a time.

We have consistent and steady freight to keep our operators busy year round, Melvin Haynes Transport is looking to lease on the following type of equipment.

Dry Vans
Reefers
Step-deck
Flatbed
Car Carriers
Hotshot -- 3500 series or bigger with either a wedge auto hauler or Flatbed (open or enclosed) with the ability to haul a minimum of 2-cars.

We offer the following:

70% Line haul commission (Hotshots, straight trucks, and Semis) - Our Semi (Dry van) truck Owner Operators Net a minimum average of $1,600 per week after fuel or $1.55 - $1.70+ per loaded mile (depending on lanes) but no less than $1.40 (this doesn't include insurance and escrow deductions) Team drivers, Reefers, Flatbeds, Steps decks, and Auto haulers earn much more. "The more states you can run, the more profitable you will be". Settlements are paid every Friday (Via Fleetone fuel/pay cards or Plus checks).
90% Detention
100% Tarping
100% Layover

100% Lumper (receipt required)
100% Fuel Surcharge (when applied)

100% Tolls and scale reimbursements (must be approved by dispatch and a receipt is required)

You pay the following expenses/deductions:

Drug and alcohol testing - $45.00
DOT physical - $78.00 one-time fee
Reserve account (escrow) - $1500 with a weekly deduction of $50 per week until the escrow amount is reached.

IFTA -- Varies per quarter
Liability and Cargo insurance - ($125 weekly)

Optional Programs:

Bobtail insurance - you can secure this coverage from your own insurance company or opt to be on our policy, ask your recruiting agent for more details.
Physical Damage (collision Insurance) - approximately 4% value of equipment is annual premium. You can secure this coverage from your own insurance company.

Fuel Tax Reserve account (IFTA) - You can operate under our sticker or yours. If you are a SC based Owner Operator you will be required to have your own IFTA sticker/account. (There is no cost to set-up and open your own account at a designated SC DMV).

Driver Requirements:

Melvin Haynes Transport prides itself in working with the best and brightest Owner Operators on the market to date, so we have setup and established the following criteria and requirements:

At least 25 years of age (for Tractor Trailers and Straight Trucks) with a minimum of 2 years verifiable driving experience of the vehicle being operated.

Valid CDL (for Tractor Trucks, Straight Trucks, and Hot Shots)

Clean MVR with No more than four (3) moving violations in the past 36 months, and no more than two (2) moving violations in the previous 12 months. (No DUI's) or other serious moving violations, along with acceptable CSA scores. A "serious or disqualifying traffic violation" includes the following:
Clean criminal background (no serious convictions)

Workers comp or Occ/Acc insurance (we can recommend a source to acquire coverage from average cost is $150 per month)

Able to pass both drug and alcohol test/screening, and able to obtain a DOT physical.

Must possess a nationwide cell phone , (preferably smartphone) with a camera will be used for communications, tracking, capture documents, pictures of accidents, any damages, and equipment that you pick up with current damages already.
Able to stay out a minimum of (2-weeks) at a time (unless stated otherwise).

Able to block, brace, secure, tie down equipment and cargo in a safe and secure manner, and determine if the vehicle is safely loaded
Speak and read English well enough to do his or her job and respond to official questions
Positive attitude

We are currently running paper logs but will be converting to "E-Logs" really soon. So driver must be fully efficient and understand how to properly and "legally" complete and stay in compliant with DOT log book preparation and tracking.
